Bioavailability

The degree to which a nutrient can be absorbed and used by a plant. A nutrient may be present in the soil or growing medium, but without the right conditions, including pH, moisture levels and microbial activity, it may remain locked out and inaccessible. Understanding bioavailability explains why the form and delivery of plant nutrition matters as much as the nutrients themselves.
